Skypace connects the rate and free-time terms to the shipment events that create additional cost. Invoice review and dispute activity use the same commercial terms, timestamps, documents and operating evidence.
Cost known before the invoice arrives
Each invoice line is matched to the quotation, the contract tariff and the operating event, and a variance is flagged with its evidence.
The carrier invoice is loaded against the shipment. Ocean freight, surcharges and accessorial lines are matched to the approved quotation and the contract tariff in force on the booking date. A line that has no matching event or exceeds the agreed rate is flagged with the difference and the document that proves it. The dispute is filed from the same screen, and its status is tracked on the shipment until credit or settlement.
Invoice lines matched to contract and quotation
A charge event is accrued on the shipment with its time log at the moment it occurs, weeks before the carrier invoice.

The Federal Maritime Commission reports that nine ocean carriers collected roughly $15.4 billion in demurrage and detention between April 1, 2020 and March 31, 2025. U.S. D&D invoice rules under 46 CFR Part 541 require specific identifying, timing, rate and dispute information and set deadlines for invoice issuance and for mitigation, refund or waiver requests. Because the charge is created by an operating event weeks before the invoice, Skypace accrues the charge when the event occurs and reviews the invoice against that accrual.
