Global Logistics Program Manager, Data Center and High-Tech Hardware

Skypace is the ocean freight division of Maxton Shipping Inc., an FMC-licensed NVOCC (OTI license 027662) headquartered in California. Skypace runs ocean freight and 4PL programs for 200+ organizations in 20+ countries, under commercial contracts with nine ocean carriers.

Data center operators, server manufacturers and their electrical and mechanical suppliers build capacity against fixed deployment and energization dates. Switchgear, generators, cooling units, racks, enclosures and a growing share of server and networking hardware cross the ocean from manufacturers in Asia and Europe, and each shipment has a slot in a construction or deployment sequence. Because a late container holds an installation crew and a go-live date, these shippers measure logistics on total cycle time and delivery against the need date, and manage their providers through SLAs and scorecards.

The Global Logistics Program Manager, Data Center and High-Tech Hardware is the named owner of those programs at Skypace. The role manages forwarding operations in coordination with the shipper's designated manufacturers, integrators, trade partners and logistics service providers (LSPs), and answers for the program scorecard in every business review.

Compensation: $125,000 to $160,000 base salary, plus an annual bonus tied to the program scorecard.

Program Scorecard:

• Total cycle time from cargo ready to site or warehouse delivery, by lane;

• Delivery against need date, and at-risk shipments recovered before site impact;

• Schedule reliability against the market figure, by lane and carrier;

• Charge exposure per container: demurrage, detention and accessorials, with free-time utilization;

• Invoice variance against contract terms, and dispute cycle time;

• Records complete: ISF and AMS timeliness, classification and origin documents on file;

• SLA attainment, and business reviews delivered on schedule with corrective actions closed.

What You Will Do:

Program ownership

• Own the ocean freight programs of data center and high-tech hardware customers from award through steady state;

• Maintain the routing guide, SOPs and escalation matrix for each program;

• Report the scorecard in monthly and quarterly business reviews and agree corrective actions.

Execution control

• Monitor bookings, sailings, milestones and exceptions across customer lanes in the Skypace platform;

• Identify shipments at risk against site need dates and lead recovery with carriers, drayage and customs brokers, including expedite options agreed with the customer;

• Manage free time before demurrage and detention accrue;

• Coordinate high-value cargo handling: sealed containers, vetted drayage and delivery appointments.

Supplier and LSP coordination

• Work with the shipper's manufacturers, integrators and LSPs on cargo readiness, documentation and handover points;

• Align destination drayage and final delivery with site receiving windows, staging yards and integration warehouses.

Commercial and compliance interface

• Plan contract rates, allocations and MQC for customer volumes with carrier procurement;

• Validate invoices against contract terms and resolve variances with finance;

• Keep shipment records complete under customer and regulatory requirements, including the classification and origin documents supplied by the importer.

Program development

• Identify lanes and sites where the program scope can extend, together with the sales lead for the account.

Operational Interfaces:

• Customer side: global logistics and transportation operations, supply chain program management, sourcing and procurement, trade compliance, data center construction and site logistics teams;

• Skypace side: operations and booking teams, carrier procurement, drayage coordination, customs brokerage and overseas partners.

You're a Fit If:

• 7+ years in logistics for data center, server, networking, semiconductor or electronics supply chains, on the shipper side or inside an LSP program;

• Experience managing forwarders, carriers or 3PLs through SLAs, scorecards and business reviews, or being managed through them;

• Working knowledge of ocean freight execution: service contracts, allocations, free time, demurrage and detention, ISF and AMS, Incoterms 2020;

• Experience delivering against deployment or construction need dates, with site receiving constraints;

• Familiarity with high-value cargo security practice and with import compliance for hardware: HTS classification, country of origin, C-TPAT;

• Fluency in data: advanced Excel, a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau, ERP exposure with SAP preferred;

• Clear communication with logistics, procurement and finance stakeholders at manager and director level.

This role carries the customer's program inside Skypace. Its decisions show up in the customer's own scorecard: cycle time, need dates, charges, invoices, records. Skypace applies structured systems to booking, tracking and audit, and relies on experienced program managers to read conditions and act before a deployment date is at risk.

Professionally, the role gives continuous exposure to carrier markets, data center build schedules and the way contract terms meet live shipment execution.
